History


As is said on one of the other pages, I have been sewing and crocheting for over 34 years, am formerly an ICU/CCU R.N. After 10 years in the field, I developed a chronic pain condition that I have been dealing with for 15 years now, and as a result, have changed my profession. I have many original designs and even patterns that I replicate all have my own original "flavor" added to them, however the creations that I am most proud of include: sunsuits and playmats..The sunsuits are boy/ girl/unisex oriented, with respective double crocheted, or ruffle trim, all have elastic gently woven into the underarm and thigh areas for a comfort fit. They are also made with either super soft Caron yarn, or Lion brand cotton yarn for coolness. The playmats are made with "eggcrate" mattress foam, have 6 toys sewn on firmly and safely with elastic, and soft fleece, cotton or flannel covering, and are 100% portable, wash and dryable, toys and all, and many clients request quilted, character playmats with a theme (i.e. "Snoopy", "Strawberry Shortcake, "Winnie-the-Pooh").

The sunsuits also come with a matching and brand new, onesie or tee shirt, and a unique creation, a "wrist bunny" for only $19! Also, as of late, all sunsuits and almost everything (with the exception of certain afghans and/or ponchos) are made with Caron brand "Simply Soft", or Lion brand "Babysoft" yarn as it is noted what a pleasant feeling these acrylic, and acrylic -polyamid yarns have..the benefits of sport weight yarn (longevity) with the benefit of baby yarn (softness)!

Marie's Sewcrochetions has become popular, and as a result, we are in the process of improving in all ways.
